Taxis have always been a part of my life. Growing up, they signified good times out and still do today! For me, taxis mean nights out socialising, having a few drinks with friends, or attending an exciting event.
I love the diversity of cultures you are exposed to with taxi drivers.
My greatest memory is being in a cab driven by an eastern European guy on a humid day, just before it was about to rain.
We were chatting and he asked me if I knew if there was an English word that feeling of “it’s about to rain”. He hadn’t come across one, and I racked my brain, but had to agree, there is no such word. His word was o kiši / mintegy eső and it I often still think of him and the word today.
